Australian Cost Engineering Society

Cost engineering enables businesses to plan and execute projects with precision, ensuring optimal cost allocation and maximised value. By employing effective cost estimation, control and management, organisations can enhance efficiency across commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Established in 1996, the Australian Cost Engineering Society (ACES) is a technical society of Engineers Australia dedicated to advancing the principles and applications of cost engineering and project management. ACES provides a platform for professionals to exchange information on total cost management technologies and encourages increased training and recognition for practitioners.

Our key objectives are to:

  • Promote cost engineering for informed decision-making in project planning and management.
  • Share best practices and methodologies to enhance industry knowledge.
  • Encourage collaboration among members, professionals and technical associations globally.
  • Provide expert guidance to industry and government on cost engineering standards.
  • Support education, training and research in cost estimation, budgeting and management.

Leadership

ACES operates through a National Committee that organises events and programs across Australia. Active chapters with dedicated committees are present in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
